Venue & Travel
The French and English will meet to create two unique events in one week. Event 1 will explore 'The Patterns that Connect all of David Grove's Thinking'. Event 2 is an entirely new 'bottom-up' approach to community learning — each participant gets to choose a part of the programme. There will be lots of personal attention from Penny Tompkins, James Lawley, Jennifer de Gandt and Phil Swallow.
The Two Events will be held in a beautiful country house in Normandy following a new format. As well as
developing professionally and personally, the format will enable you to
expand your acquaintances in the clean community, enjoy the refreshing
swimming pool, and improve your French at the same time!
Event 1: What are the patterns that connect all of David Grove's thinking?
with Penny Tompkins and James Lawley (in English, translated into French)
James and Penny will be showing participants how to make links between David's earliest Child Within phase, his middle exploring perceptual time and space phase, and his later emergent knowledge phase. They will show how an understanding of self-organising systems, networks and emergence can reveal the hidden patterns in his work.
(This is an advanced workshop, participants will ideally have completed 10 days training in Clean Language and Symbolic Modelling.)
Event 2: Participant's Choice
A potpourri of how Symbolic Modelling and David Grove's work can be used in a variety of contexts.
Facilitation by James Lawley, Penny Tompkins, Jennifer de Gandt, Phil Swallow (in English and French) including:
- Supervision of client cases
- Project support
- Personal development work
- Training/practice on a specific part of the model
Participants can request any of the above in advance, or suggest a topic of their own. Every participant will have some time allocated to their choice.
Two or more people can get together to choose a joint topic, and thereby have more time spent on that topic.
All events are open to all participants.
Participants get a 3-for-1:
- Participants have their own topic be the focus of a session
- They get to take part in what other people have chosen
- They get to model how the facilitation is done (by Penny, James, Phil, Jennifer), with time for questions and debriefing.
